The front staircase was restored to its former beauty in 1983. Note the arch above the staircase. It is one of several throughout the building that were part of the original renovation. Lining the wall in ascending order are pictures of the Past National Presidents - 32 photos in all. During the construction of the addition, the window was closed and replaced with an original door from the McCord era. There now hangs the Presidents' Plaque, which was made out of the front doorstep wood from Past National President Evelyn Adam Costello's, Nu, home. Tradition sends a replica plaque for display at the collegiate chapter of the current National President.
