The Florence Hood Miner/Carol Sharpe Harper Bedroom

Scene :

The Florence Hood Miner/Carol Sharpe Harper Bedroom

Through the generous donations of Florence Hood Miner, Illinois - Alpha Beta, Past National Officer and National Historian, and Carol Sharpe Harper, Louisville (KY) - Beta Gamma, Past Museum Trustee, this room, named in their honor, holds many treasures of the past.

The violet is one of Florence Miner's favorite flowers, so touches of the deep purple color captured in the flower's blooms can be seen throughout the room. Mrs. Miner, known as Delta Zeta's "Living Legend," authored the 1902-1982 history of the Sorority. Any guest in this room can find the history book tucked into the top drawer of the bedside table for late night reading. Mrs. Miner was also a member of the original Board of Trustees of the National Historical Museum.

Carol Sharpe Harper served as a Province Alumnae Director in 1984 and Trustee of the Museum from 1987-1989. The Carol Sharpe Harper Lecture Fund, established by Mrs. Harper, hosts distinguished speakers for Sorority National Conventions and conferences.
