Singing and dancing with Fred Astaire and working professionally with Dean Martin, Andy Williams, Carol Burnett and many other entertainers are among the highlights of Nanette Fabray’s career on stage, screen and television. She has been acknowledged for her work by her peers with a Tony Award and two Emmys. Nanette has had a long association with Gallaudet University and other hearing-related organizations. She gives her time and talent as a spokesperson for the deaf and hearing-impaired. Nanette was the first celebrity to “go public” about her hearing loss and the four operations which restored it. She has been honored with the country’s most prestigious awards. In 1998, she received the Screen Actors Guild’s Humanitarian Award, a salute to her combining her professional talents with her philanthropic endeavors.
