The Early Years - Alfa Lloyd Hayes: 1902-1912
In the beginning, Alpha Chapter governed the Sorority. In 1908,there were four “grand” officers with Alfa as President. When Delta Zeta numbered six chapters, a Grand Council was duly elected at the 1910 Convention with Alfa Lloyd Hayes, then married, as Grand President. Other officers came from other chapters. In 1924,the six officers elected to form the new Council were designated as “National” rather than “Grand.”
