Jan McBurney Armstrong, Oregon State - Chi, Woman of the Year 1974
Lions, orangutans and bears are among the animals that have been at the home of Jan Armstrong, Curator of Animal Health at the Kansas City Zoo. Jan is an expert in the care of infant animals and has raised towards adulthood leopards, sea lions, gazelles, polar bears and others, often taking one with her when she presents a program to organizations. Jan had a weekly television show, bringing a message on the care and conservation of animals to thousands.
