Jane is a highly successful professional speaker, consultant and the author of acclaimed self-help books including "Getting Unstuck" and "Why Women Worry." She has appeared as a guest on more than 200 radio and television programs, including "Regis and Kathie Lee," "The Home Show" and Dr. Robert Schuller's "Hour of Power." Upon graduation from Lenoir-Rhyne, Jane accepted her first teaching job in 1968 and was the first female Caucasian teacher in an all African-American school in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Other teachers noticed that the children in her class were responding and were succeeding in the classroom. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction came to her, asking to use her creativity and new ideas for speaking engagements. She was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the National Speakers Association and was inducted into the NSA Speakers Hall of Fame in 1992. In 2007, Jane Handly returned to her alma mater to give the commencement address. Drawing on her impressive background in the business field, she has inspired thousands with her dynamic seminars on customer service, client retention, leadership and employee empowerment. She owned her own market research company, with clients that included Fortune 500 companies.
