Brigadier General Barbara Campbell Fast, Central Missouri State - Epsilon Gamma, holds a key position in preserving the security of American troops and ultimately, all Americans. She is one of nine women to hold that rank in the United States Army. “My sense of duty and responsibility is to serve the nation, first and foremost. It is a humbling experience to have the privilege to be of real service to my country,” she says. During her career, she served as commander of the 66th Military Intelligence Group with over 1,000 soldiers and civilians in Augsburg, Germany where the Army concluded a successful 53-year mission. She was commissioned into the Army in 1976 as a military intelligence officer and has held a variety of command and staff assignments. These responsibilities included being the first senior intelligence officer in a combat-ready division. Brig. Gen. Barbara Fast is an extraordinary person and a true pioneer in the Army. she was named the 2000 Woman of the Year.
