Virginia Cotton Stoltz, Nebraska Wesleyan - Beta Tau, came to Delta Zeta through the Beta Phi Alpha merger with the Sorority. After graduation, she married C. Rodney Stoltz. He graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and became Dr. Stoltz. Through his profession, Virginia became president of the Women’s Auxiliary to the American Medical Association, chiefly a service organization. Through the auxiliary, members seek to inform physicians’ wives of the problems of medicine. They encouraged the wives to serve in the communities where public health projects were needed. Virginia Stoltz traveled the length and breadth of the country, speaking before local groups and representing the auxiliary on national committees. She had a busy life in addition to being a wife and mother. The Stoltzes had two children. In addition to the time devoted to the auxiliary, Virginia was busy with local projects and civic associations. She was named South Dakota “Mother of the Year” and was a recipient of the Nebraska Wesleyan Loyalty Award. She was named the 1965 Woman of the Year.
