“Composing is a fun thing to do. It is exciting. Sometimes I think of a new piece and hear melodies, words and harmonies all at once in my head,” said Edna Mae Will Burnam Nauman, California State/Chico - Delta Chi, an internationally published composer and writer of verse and music teaching techniques. She was one of the unsung composers of America, publishing piano course books, suites, duets and original sheet music. Her compositions for piano students were played around the world and distributed throughout the United States and in England, Spain, Japan and Australia. She was voted one of the five Favorite American Composers by the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Edna Mae was the National League of American Pen Women’s Ambassador of Music to Children. She was the 1992 Woman of the Year.
