Dance Your Dreams! In a life devoted to community service, Debra Nesbitt Jenkins has been recognized nationally for her outreach efforts to a neighborhood in decline and to bringing performing arts programs and education to those who otherwise would never have a chance to experience them. Debra and her husband, Alan, founded Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center, a non-profit organization which plays host to international stars and touring productions and to the Johnny Stallings Art Program, which provides art education to children with special needs. Merrimack Hall had been a historic warehouse destined to be torn down when Debra and Alan decided to renovate it. In doing so, Merrimack Hall has been responsible for revitalizing a fading neighborhood. Debra was the 2010 Woman of the Year.
